The library at the Olin College of Engineering needed a new circulation desk that would attract attention. Before we got involved, students at Olin didn't know where to go to ask questions and return books and materials. The desk is now centrally located in the library and the faceted faces add to the desk's presence. The desk provides storage space for librarians and student workers along with a specially marked cabinet for returns.
As an Associate Designer on Work-Shop Design Studio's team, I assisted with developing the design of the desk - specifically the conception and development of the teal bracket system that holds the faces together - along with 3D modeling the project, and supporting the fabrication and installation processes. You can learn more about Work-Shop Design Studio and the Olin College Library Circulation Desk
